Today is the 4th night when I enjoy watching BLEAK HOUSE ( C. Dickens) on TV. This nice house was moved from it's Ashburton site to Timaru and then shipped to Auckland where it has been relocated on a 5 acre block at Waitakere. was so named by Henry Stephenson who commissioned this house to be built in 1908. He was an avid fan of Charles Dickens, whose novel Bleak House inspired its design.    |
